The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) welcomed high school students from across Greater Â鶹Æƽâ°æ for its annual Young People in Humanitarianism Conference.

On 13 May, HCRI hosted its annual youth conference, welcoming students from six local schools for a simulation exercise about disaster preparedness and response.

Our guests participated in workshops about the role of the media, stakeholder responses, and post-disaster distribution of aid, in the context of a mock earthquake in the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ area.

The event – titled Young People in Humanitarianism Conference - was led and delivered by Dr Martin Parham and a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate HCRI students.

The participating schools were East Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Academy, Cedar Mount Academy, Reddish Vale High School, Sale High School, Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Academy, Grange School.
